Spring fun

We took Max to Hoffman's Playland for the first time. He wasn't really into the rides that much but liked the train. He also loved the ice cream treat after the rides.

I guess he's going to be a tree climber.

Doesn't he look great in Ashley's sun glasses. He loves to be on the swing at Deer Run.

He likes to ride in the wagon but he prefers to push it himself.

17 Months

I'm very late in posting this but here are Max's 17 month pictures. I got a little side tracked from posting this since we spent the week of Max's 17 month birthday going back and forth in the doctor, checking his temperature and then ending up in the hospital. Max had a virus that made him have a very high fever (104.5) and then a few days later his temperature was down to 94.5. We called the pediatrician and she told us to get him to the ER since a low temp could be something serious. When we got the ER, the doctors weren't very concerned because he seemed fine and had no other symptoms except for a rash. That's when they determined he had a virus similar to roseola but that had run its course.Because of his low temp, small size, and no teeth, our pediatrician wanted him to be observed and seen by some specialists to make sure there was nothing more going on with him. In he hospital he had an MRI to check the pituitary gland and his brain. All was normal. He also had a blood test to check for a growth hormone or cortisol deficiency. Those test came back normal too. After the hospital we had him seen by a dentist where he had an xray done....turns out he has a mouth full of teeth just waiting to erupt. Now we just have to meet with a geneticist but so far it is likely that nothing is wrong and that he's just late getting his teeth and small. We may never know why he had a low body temperature. What a very exhausting week but things are much better now.

16 Months

It's getting much harder and harder to get a picture of Max in his chair with his bear. He usually throws the bear off the chair. We were only able to get this one picture this month but it's a cute one. He's doing great walking and will be running very soon. Our toothless wonder is still a great eater. He says a few more words....quack, quack, and car are two that come to mind.

He has a few more toys that he really likes. Check them out...

Not sure why we bother buying toys when suitcases of dirty clothes will do.... Max likes to Daddy unpack.

15 Months

Max turned 15 months old on April 8th. He’s getting so big. He has such a personality and cracks us up all the time. He recently started liking having his picture taken and really hams it up now. Here are some of the things about him:

  • He walks a few steps alone but he’s a whiz if he’s holding on to something or someone.
  • He says mama, dada, ball, kitty cat, woof woof, get it, and that (really dat).
  • His favorite toys are balls. His favorite book is I See a Monster, an autograph copy of a touch and feel book.
  • His favorite food is any fruit but he also loves anything that has a lot of flavor (garlic, yummy).
  • He recently tried some dirt and didn’t like it too much.
  • He knows where his nose and his belly are.
  • Recently learned to go up and down stairs….thanks to a weekend visit with Aunt Lisa who has lots of stairs.

His 15 month check up went well. He’ll still be riding backwards in the car for a little while longer. He hasn’t reached the 20 lb requirement yet. He’s 19 lbs 12 oz. (<>

14 Months and More....

I know, I know....I've been delinquent in my blogging. So now I have a lot to post. I completely missed his 14 month picture. So here it is.

Here are some pictures from the last 6 weeks.

Max and Robin at the park on one of our beautiful spring days.

Max with his cousins Danny and Brian.....and the monkey.

Max trying to hide.

For a long time, Max didn't really want to eat sweets. As you can see, that has changed. He would have eaten the whole piece of cake if we let him.

Roger and I went to the Met to see La Boheme. It was our first time away from Max for longer than 18 hours and so far away. We had a great time in the City and the opera was great.
