Aloha!

Max got his first Lei made by Aunty Brooksie. It's little teddy bears and kui kui nut beads. He seemed to like it.

Max did great on our flights. He slept the entire flight from Albany to Chicago and for a lot of the flight from Chicago to Honolulu. We really lucked out on the 2nd flight. It was oversold but there must have been many missed connections so there were four empty seats in a row of 5. Before the doors closed a woman sat in one of the seats. So I asked her how many seats she needed and explained that we were traveling with a baby and didn't have an empty seat near us. She was so nice and let us take the four seats and she and her husband took ours. It was so helpful. We were able to let Max lay down on the seats when he slept. It was great.

Max met several of his aunties, uncles and cousins but there are more to come. Pictured here - Max's great aunts and uncles - Aunty Brooksie, Aunty Bobbie, Uncle Bobo - and Tanya (Marcy's cousin).

Cousin Jade and her friend Tara learned to do the hula. They were pretty good.

Max went to his first beach. We went to Ali'i Beach on the North Shore. Unfortunately, we were only there for about 10 minutes before it started to pour.

7 Months

Max turned 7 months old on Saturday. He's 14lbs 3oz. We only know this because he was sick so we had to bring him to the doctors and he got weighed. I can't believe he's getting so big. He's been rolling all over his crib and seems to like to sleep on his stomach. He often gets his legs caught in the slats of the crib. He loves to eat and can't wait to devour his food when it's put in front of him or even before it gets there. He's still such a good baby and loves to be with people. He lets you know when he doesn't want to be held or when he wants to eat. We're still so in awe that he's our son and we just can't get enough of him.
Max loves to play with his feet...and the remote.

Summer fun and a new tub

Hanging out with family. We celebrated Nanny's birtday last Saturday and yesterday we spent the day at camp with Meme, Papa, Leah and Uncle Henry. Max also met other family members but I'm waiting for those pictures from my cousin.
Today we celebrated Michaels 7th birthday. Max had a lot of fun with the sponge bob doll and watching sponge bob. I think that's his favorite.
We used a new tub tonight and Max really liked it. I did too. It's deeper than the one we had before and it helps to keep the counter dry. He's a little too big for the old and but still not sitting up well enough for just a tub ring. He thinks this one is a spa though. See how relaxed he is?

I scream, you scram, Max screams for ice cream

We let Max try ice cream and he loved it. Unfortunately we only had a camera phone so the pictures aren't that clear. It was really funny because he kept sticking his tongue out and we realized that he was copying us - we were all licking our ice cream cones.
